In the first chapter of the Chicken Invaders saga, you defended earth against an invasion of intergalactic chickens seeking revenge for the oppression of their earthly brethren. However, as you were clearing out the last of the chicken invaders and were looking forward to a double chicken burger special at the space burger bar, the true scale of the problem became apparent: the first invasion was simply a precursor to the chicken's main assault! Their master plan now becomes clear: to invade each planet in the solar system and make sure that it is inhabited exclusively by chickens!
The time has now come to don your teflon-coated, egg-repulsing helmet and make the biggest omelette you've ever made as you continue your adventure in the second chapter of Chicken Invaders: The Next Wave. Only you can make a difference. Will you succeed? Will the future of chicken burgers be secure? Or will you end up as part of the menu in a galactic chicken restaurant?Chicken Invaders is a platform game that resembles Galaga but is more fun. The game starts with a phrase that we all know: "A long, long time ago, in a galaxy far away..." That phrase alone gives me the goose bumps. The whole premise of the game is to fight a Chicken Invasion. Humanity has been killing chicken right and left for thousands of years. Apparently, now the chickens have evolved into killing machines. This is a very simple game that only takes like 10 megabytes of hard drive space on your disc. It has nice graphics and is fun to play. It is not the most elaborate game, but it is a sure fire way to relax a little bit. You can play with friends on your computer and compare your high scores with people from all around the world. There are several levels for you to complete. The free versions will only let you play a part of the game and then you will have to purchase the game if you want to kick some more chicken butt. The controls are pretty basic. All you can do is move left or right and fire missiles. I am sure the complete version will provide more long term fun than the free one. It is up to yo to try it out and figure that out. The second version of the game, The Next Wave, brings even more fun with new weapons and modes. On the last mission of the first game, you were shown how that assault was only the first one, and you were shown the master plan of the chicken: to invade the solar system and ensure that only chicken prevail. Now you have to get back into your ship and let the killing begin.
